About summer in the city (SITC)
This project is designed for all students, from non-Christians seeking to know God to student leaders within the ministry of Campus Outreach. The goal of Summer in the City is to equip students to grow in their faith and share with others on their campuses and throughout their lifetime.
The project includes the following:
Large Group Gathering -- once a week, ~2 hours of worship, teaching, discussion, and social activities (open to all college students)
Training Night -- once a week, ~1 hour meeting to be trained in a variety of practical topics, meal provided (SITC Participants Only)
Discipleship Group -- once a week, a 1.5-hour block where a group of men or women gather together to study the Bible, share life, and participate in accountability, facilitated by a leader (SITC participants only)
Social Event -- once a week, an event for the purpose of having fun and building community (open to all), cost included for SITC participants, $5-7 non SITC participants
Community Ministry -- There will be a ministry event each week as well as other ministry opportunities for those who have more free time. The purpose of these ministry opportunities is to serve in the community and be exposed to needs under categories such as inner-city youth ministry, foster care, poverty, sex trafficking, criminal justice, and community evangelism.
ULP -- Urban Leadership Project is an opportunity to mentor students in the Augusta community.
