Which Churches Will We Attend?
Christ Community Church (Evangelical Free), Daytona Beach
Riverbend Community Church (Baptist), Ormond Beach
Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church (PCA), Daytona Beach
Why Do the Students Work?
Summer Beach Project students work because it is an invaluable learning experience. The jobs are part of the summer program to teach responsibility, dependability, and to expose them to the real world through a secular job.
Each student is responsible for finding their own job (though we secure hundreds of jobs in advance) when they arrive at Project. Most students find a job within the first few days.
Students may also raise money to cover the cost of the project. The particulars on how to raise money will be provided once a student is accepted.
Evening Schedule
Bible Study Training
This is an equipping time where you learn how to study the Bible in depth for yourself.
Project Meals
On Thursday nights, the students are randomly assigned groups to dine with at local restaurants in Daytona.
D-Groups
Later on, each room on project meets for accountability, fellowship, and Bible Study (discipleship groups).
Free Time...
What part of free don't you understand? File your nails, play some hoops, do your laundry, go out on a date, sit and stare at the wall, take a dip in the pool, walk on the beach, spend time with God...
Theme Training
On Monday nights, all 100 students gather for a time of worship, skittage, testimonies, and talks. Each week the project has a different theme such as "The Fatherhood of God," "The Holy Spirit," "Relationships," and "The Power of Prayer."
Socials
On Friday nights, the project has a themed social...luaus, 70's bowling, 80's roller skating, beach olympics...you name it, they've done it. Remember to bring your props!
